Iran-Iraq quake death toll rises to 348, thousands more injured

Death toll in the Sunday 7.3-magnitude earthquake in northern border region between Iran and Iraq has climbed to 348 as thousands more left injured.

BBC has quoted Iranian aid agency saying, “70,000 people needed shelter after the quake, one of the largest this year.”

It is estimated that majority of those who died were in Iran's western Kermanshah province while nearly 5,660 were injured.

Rescue team has been deployed at the affected area though it has been hampered by landslides.
